Red Bull was announced as the last sponsor of the League of Legends European Championship (LEC).
As an official sponsor of LEC energy drinks, Red Bull will develop activations for live league events and spring and summer finals. According to a blog post by LEC, Red Bull and Riot Games will also work together to develop “League of Legends” competitions for the European amateur scene.
Red Bull already has a wide range of sponsorships and export initiatives, supporting the LEC Team Vitality organization, as well as 100 Thieves, Cloud9 and BIG, along with the famous streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. The brand also hosts tournaments and events and produces editorial and video coverage.
The LEC has added several sponsors for the new and renamed championship, including Kia, Shell, Foot Locker, Logitech G and DXRacer. Furthermore, Alienware is the official PC and display partner for both the LEC and the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS). Riot Games has also signed a global multi-year sponsorship with MasterCard in 2018 for its international events.
