It is a consequence of the harsh Belgian anti loot box policy, a mechanism that allows for lives or items to be paid for during games. And this form, according to the Government, constitutes illegal gambling. The games removed are “Fire Emblem Heroes” and “Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp” and the creator announced the cancellation. The decision of the Japanese giant not to make the two videogames more available is an attempt to avoid regulatory actions by the Belgian government.
