Red Bull Racing Esports and Toro Rosso Esports announce the first drivers to race in the 2019 series, with another driver to be chosen by each team at the Pro Draft in July.
Red Bull and Toro Rosso have revealed the four faces that will be the beginning of their winter sports teams for the Pro Newport Esports 2019 F1 series.
The most important change is that Frederik Rasmussen will move from Toro Rosso to Red Bull.
The Danish driver took five podiums in the past season – including an incredible victory in Baku – as he headed for third place in the drivers’ championship. His efforts helped Toro Rosso achieve an excellent result in the drivers’ classification last year.
He joins Joni Tormala, with the Finnish confirmed in Red Bull also in 2019.
In Toro Rosso, confirmed Cem Bolukbasi, alongside his colleague Patrik Holzmann.
Bolukbasi, who recently participated in a round of the GT4 European Series, will hope that his companies on the track at the Paul Ricard circuit will translate into greater success in the virtual world.
The fearsome quartet will surely capture the attention of other teams, with all four riders positioning themselves in the top ten last year’s championship.
Even the Renault team for 2019 has already begun to take shape, with the first pilot duo announced in May.
Pro Draft will present Red Bull, Toro Rosso and the other eight F1 Esports teams with another huge talent pool, from which they will have to select at least one driver for their 2019 series roster.
