Immortals Gaming Club (IGC) would have won an offer to purchase Infinite Esports & Entertainment, the company that owns the Houston Outlaws and OpTic Gaming teams
According to rumors, the agreement would include the purchase of the OpTic Gaming franchise League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) slots, making IGC the second external organization to buy a seat in the championship.
As IGC already has an Overwatch (LA Valiant) team, the company will be responsible for a separate sale of the Houston team.
The deal will be made for a net total of about $ 35 million according to an ESPN report.
OpTic Gaming will maintain its brand for the rest of the LCS 2019 competitive season, to then replace it in 2020, marking for the first time Immortals competed in LCS since 2017.
IGC is the owner of Overwatch League (OWL) and the Los Angeles Valiant team.
In 2017, Infinite Esports & Entertainment entered into an agreement to purchase a majority stake in OpTic Gaming. The ESPN report states that IGC will be responsible for completing these payments as well as LCS franchise fees.
