Gaming hardware and services company Razer partnered with financial services giant Visa to develop a joint digital prepaid card within the Razer Pay mobile app, initially for users in Southeast Asia
The Visa prepaid solution will be based on the existing features of the Razer Pay app, allowing users to add money or cash as desired and use the app for online and physical payments worldwide. Razer has around 60 million total users and Visa is accepted at 54 million stores worldwide.
Razer Fintech has joined Visa’s Fast-track fintech (financial technology) program to accelerate access to Visa’s global services. Razer Pay is currently alive in Malaysia, with plans to expand to Singapore.
The features of Visa should be presented to Razer Pay in Southeast Asia in the coming months, before a possible global release.
