The Superliga is on its way to Murcia. UCAM Esports Club is the new Spanish champion of League of Legends, the official league organized by LVP (MEDIAPRO Group), after beating Cream Real Betis (3-0) in a final that reached a record number of 328,385 unique online viewers , 37% more than what was achieved a year ago in spring.
The final, which was played online for health reasons, has already become the most watched broadcast in the history of national LVP competitions. In addition to the number of viewers, the clash between UCAM and Betis reached a peak of 49,758 concurrent viewers, the highest of the entire season and 6% increase on the spring 2020 edition. Also, the AMA (Average Minute Audience -media viewers per minute-), was the highest of the entire season, with more than 45,000 spectators on average, not counting pre- and post-match.
The battle between UCAM Esports Club and Cream Real Betis, the first football organization to reach a Superliga final, was also played on social media. At the end of the day, LVP’s Twitter and Instagram accounts had generated more than 3.3 million impressions and more than 170,000 interactions talking about the final, unprecedented figures.
“We congratulate UCAM Esports Club on their first championship win, they’ve had a great season and they deserve the title. From all of us here at LVP, we’d like to thank the teams and the fans because they’d made this year’s edition the most enjoyable, most thrilling and hardest to call Superliga in history. In addition, it’s a great satisfaction and an enormous success for everyone that the Superliga continues to break audience records and grow in double digits”, explained Jordi Soler, CEO of LVP.
It was a one-horse race, with UCAM dominating their rival
On Summoner’s Rift, the League of Legends game map, UCAM gave their rival no choice. Led by a sensational Rafa “Rafitta” Ayllón, the Murcian team demonstrated that they’re the Spanish team in best form at the moment. Cream Real Betis only showed their teeth in the second map, the most even of the series, although UCAM ended up taking the spoils.
This second map left us the most spectacular plays of the match, including a Pentakill by Rafitta himself, elected MVP of the finals, who once again shone on the third and final map along with Czech Jakub “Dreedy” Vicenik to carry his team to victory. It’s the first league title in the history of UCAM Esports Club, which already demonstrated its potential in a regular season in which it finished second behind G2 Arctic. In the playoffs, the Murcians defeated Vodafone Giants, one of the great favorites, in the semifinals by a resounding 3-1, and have corroborated their excellent moment by lifting the LVP cup as Spanish League of Legends champions.
EU Masters Spring 2021, just around the corner
